We undertake research to help organisations understand the context and character of complex systems and areas to ensure better interventions. ReBlok is a social enterprise who won the Western Cape Government’s Serious About Games competition and developed their flagship product, Vukuzenzele, with a grant. We developed the user manual and business case for the game on participatory informal settlement upgrading.
We conducted a literature survey on land expropriation and its impact on cities for CAHF, CSP and IUDF Working Group.
Walter co-authored the report on a decade in review of partnerships between informal settlement networks and local governments for in-situ upgrading.
