Project outline

A sub-national Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP) is a requirement of signatories of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and Target 17 of the Aichi Biodiversity Targets.

The Western Cape Government adopted its PBSAP for the period 2015 - 2025. This strategy provides a framework to manage the conservation of protected areas, clearing of alien invasive species, protection of IUCN red-listed species and other diverse initiatives related to environmental education, nature-based economies, and increased participation by citizens.

We were appointed by the lead service provider, Information by Design, to support an information needs assessment, gap analysis and business concept for improved data governance, quality, discoverability and reporting objectives.
